As every cat lover knows, losing your cat can be very difficult. A feline friend leaves a permanent imprint on your soul, whether they’ve been part of your family for years or only a few months, as we found with our fospice cat Nemo. Individual artist’s sites and Etsy sellers showcase their creations for you and I hope spotlighting some here might make the job of finding a meaningful memory a lot easier.

You can tell right away that Karen Earnhardt, owner of Flower Floozy Designs, is a caring animal lover who will take great care to represent your cat. Her budget runs from delicate night lights with a silhouette to personalised mosaic portraits.
Speaking of her commissions Karen says, “Each piece of stained glass is cut and applied to the portrait to create a beautiful likeness of your special baby.” This custom-made mosaic starts at $200 (approx.), and would certainly be a treasured memorial. Etsy. Maybe commission a cat mosaic headstone or image to be mounted on a headstone. Pet memorials for the garden can be a really special gift for someone.

Each memorial is hand painted to your requirements and detailed instructions are given on Etsy about ordering. I discovered a delightful and appealing animal sculptor, CindiHale who sells on Etsy, thanks to friends Dalton and Benji. The boys shared their collection of family miniatures and I know readers will find this range of custom and memorial miniatures perfect as small pet memories.
There are specific ordering instructions you need to follow for personalised figures. I list them out here so you can be ready to order. If you are ordering for a specific event e.g. Christmas, I suggest ordering very early and giving Cindi Hale the maximum amount of time to work with you.
- Please allow 10 days to 2 weeks for completion of custom sculptures.
- Each ceramic figurine is hand-built from clay, bisque-fired, glaze-painted, then fired again.
- No molds or casts are used. Each piece is original, ceramic art.
- Custom requests are welcomed. Please keep in mind that the turn-around time is 1 to 2 weeks, as the creative process involves several phases.

Wow what alot of amazing things. This is wonderful. So we do something simple. We have our own Etsy Shop (ok our human helps sometimes) and we make mugs, tote bags, and wearables (sweatshirts, t-shirts, etc) with your cats name on it and the message of your choice.

These are such lovely keepsakes! The stained glass is really unique, I love that one. When my dog Phoebe passed in March, she was cremated and they sent me a clay paw print of hers – it meant so much to me, I actually love having it with me. I also really like “mourning jewelry”, particularly items you can store your pet’s hair in. I had ordered a gorgeous pendant on Etsy that could hold pet hair in it, but the post office messed up and totally Lost it! I was so disappointed. I later found a pendant shaped like an owl at the craft store that could hold some of her hair in it. I bought it and I love that I can carry a little piece of her whenever I wear that pendant necklace.
These are so beautiful! I have a bunch of Dav’s fur set aside with the intention of doing something with it. I’m not sure if I want to spin it into wool to make something (there is A LOT of it lol) or just take a little to incorporate into something like the jewellery you shared. For now, it’s just sitting there waiting for me to make a decision. I started thinking it though now because while she is still with me, I need to save up a lot if I go the wool route lol

These are all such beautiful ways…for beloved dogs, too. I did have portraits of my Huskies done while I had them and truly cherish them now. I also have jewelry for my beloved Gibson, the Epi-warrior, and I a ceramic FiveSibes with holiday lights and our two adopted cats Including our feral) all done in ceramic and it sits in my curio cabinet. I have many photos I have taken over the years. I do have a lovely stone for them in my backyard and will be adding solar pawprint lights. I find myself that while grieving, it helps to make a tribute and have a special memorial for them. I know they are always with me, but my heart truly loves the reminders. I have a gorgeous artist portrait of my horse as well. I still want to have portraits done of my two adopted dogs pre-Huskies. I do love the many different artist versions and the felt miniatures are precious. While it is so difficult losing them, your list is a beautiful list of ways to honor them always.
Oh my goodness! These are such wonderful finds. There are several in here that I will definitely be ordering once I get moved and settled. If I do it now, I will lose them. I hope my new home will have enough space for everything I want to take and get. I am just nuts over the folk art painting and felted animals. I can see a whole lineup of my beloved critters in folk art paintings with a 3-D version in felt below them. Maybe in an office or library. That would be amazing! I’m holding onto this page. But for now, I’m sharing this will all my pet parents.
These pet memorial items are so lovely. I kept it simple–I have a pendant with some of my dog’s “living” fur–meaning clipped before her passing.

Wow! These ideas are amazing. I think my favorite is the watercolor necklace. There’s just something about being able to wear your memory around your neck. Those little-felted cats are really neat too. It is crazy how realistic they can be!
What wonderful idea to honor our fur children who’ve gone to the bridge.
It took me years to be able to even talk about my dog dying. I know that have a memorial for her in so many ways has gently helped with the passage of time. I love seeing all these ways to memorialize our treasured babies.

These are lovely. My human does not do the memorial thing herself – they depress her – but she knows they bring comfort to most other humans.
I’m going to look into these! Right now, I have a very rudimentary (and cheap) memorial to Kitty… but this year will be the 10 year anniversary of her crossing The Bridge and it might be time to upgrade. I have a picture of her hanging on my wall … along with the little envelope of fur I snipped, a couple whiskers and claw sheathes I found. Originally, I had her favorite toy sitting on top of the frame … but Bear kept ripping it off, so I tucked it away for safe keeping 🙂
