Harvey Birthday Boy

Sunday was Harvey’s birthday (2004) and I wanted to showcase some of my favourite pictures. We don’t usually post on Monday but I thought you might like to see some of his sweet photographs after last week’s sadness.

The last image (warning for the sensitive) shows how he arrived at our home. Be assured that within a year he had completely healed of what our vet Dr. Hughes called ‘nervous eczema’ and was an utterly spoiled cat.

Dr Hughes performed the operation to remove Harvey’s pre-cancerous ear tips and everyone loved Harvey’s new ‘Scottish Fold’ look!

Harvey was sent a lovely snuggle mat by Bionic Basil and the B Team, and he made good use of it during the summer months when he sat outside in the sunny shade. Happy times and proof positive that seniors rock as Harvey arrived aged nine and left nearly nine years later. [See Melvyn modelling the 2025 snuggle mat.]

Harvey’s Japanese raised ceramic bowl.

I saw this on a Japanese website and had to ask the assistance of Ken at Neko Ngeru Cat Cafe (who is Japanese) to order it as we struggled with the language. Harvey was allergic to plastic which gave him acne on his chin so I needed ceramic or steel, and found this. We still have it to use, if needed, and it is an elegant and simple piece of ceramic work.
