Dash Kitten blog, and myself are proud to announce that we have won four Certificates of Excellence in the Cat Writers’ Association Contest (for the year 2024).
The Certificates will not arrive for many weeks so let me tell you about them now.
First, and proudest of all.

My first ever completed story has won a Certificate of Excellence. It appears in the anthology Purrseverance, edited by Fur Everywhere blogger and Cat Blogosphere writer Sierra M Koester.
I am grateful to Janet, mom to the Kitties Blue, for checking my story to ensure it was correct ‘American’ English.

A Brave Tabby Looks Out
The first Photography Single Image winner is one of a series documenting Toulouse recovery after his dramatic rush to the vet. Funnily enough both of my winning cat photograph Certificates come from the same storytelling post.
There are 11 entries in this category that won Certificates and I am thrilled. The standards continue to climb and entries increase every year.

A post inspired by a treasured find of an old paper photo of Dash Kitten prompted this CWA Certificate of Excellence post. I asked “How Do I Rescue an Old Cat Photo?” and the judges liked it.
The journey from slightly battered paper treasure to successfully adjusted digital image of our loved boy Dash will, I hope, inspire others to rescue their own images. It’s not hard everyone so try it with a printed photo yourself.
