10 Sites for Cat Lovers to Enjoy

Something a little different to my educational photo fare this week. Often others don’t know a site for cat lovers that you enjoy and that might fun or pass on essential knowledge, so I want to spotlight some really nice sites you will enjoy, if you don’t know them already!

There are no affiliate links for us just a chance to share some sites to make you smile and support people we know and love. So, sit back, grab a drink of your choice and let’s browse!

OK I admit there are 9 links and one heartfelt recommendation for a movie I love.

The Cat Blogosphere

A fantastic site where you can add your cat, dog and other pet blog posts as you publish. You can join popular blog hops if you enjoy those, and also add urgent news to the rolling news feed at appears 9when needed) the top of the blog. This is a great place to make new discoveries and colleagues.

Popular posts include the month’s essential anniversaries, and Saturday’s with Sierra where Sierra M. Koester notifies the community about the week’s important news and celebrates birthdays. The lovely graphics by Barb Kowalik (Marv’s Mom) are a real delight to see and share.

90,000 Cat Photos – Walter Chandoha

This is a short BBC article that includes a selection of inspiring and wonderful cat photos for you to enjoy. Go to enjoy the photographs of a master Cat Photographer.

CB Whiskers and Paws

If you need a cooler than cool t-shirt for the summer, or a mug that is totally unique, or an essential folding tote for extra shopping, then head to the Cat Blogosphere’s Etsy store.

The site is packed with fun, well priced, and unique merch dog and cat lovers will absolutely love. Hoodies with paw prints? Check. Cute flags for the garden? Check. Colourful Christmas T-Shirt? Ready and waiting. See you there SOON! (The picture is in NZ dollars you will get it is your own currency don’t worry!)

Bionic Basil and the B Team

Basil’s busy and colourful site packed with fun puzzles and stories. Amber reviews books you will need to read right now (only buy your own copy Amber has a library to maintain!) and be inspired by Crafting with Cats. The legendary Cat Sleigh, and the Wizarding Hat have to be seen to be believed.

The Lost Cat Finder

Kim is the Cat Finder (with capital letters) She is the first port of call for desperate cat owners whose beloved cats have gone missing. Reuniting cats and families is her full time job and I was very impressed by her presentation at the Cat Writers conference a couple of years ago. She has a downloadable kit (paid) and works with individual owners. Kim debunks a lot of the myths about putting old cat litter and adding cats to sites.

Shop With Friends

Rather than scour Amazon and hope you pick a cool cat book, you need to check out this showcase of pet themed books, jewellery and treats.

Check out the famous Ham-micks from FortyPaws, thrilling Espionage from John Bellen, or cat themed books like Pirates and Pussycats by Kerry Barbero, The King Herod’s Affair by M.E. Watson and the book our boy Angel Harvey’s appears in *Purrseverance (ed. Sierra M Koester). Finally, need a designer you can trust? Zoolatry is your girl! Blog headers, badges and designs? Start with Ann and her right hand cat June.

  • * As Harvey’s story has won a CWA Certificate of Excellence I could not leave it out.

Brian’s Home Forever

Brian’s Home is a well established blog we love. It is packed with daily posts by the clowder including the weekly Thankful Thursday blog hop where they encourage everyone to find special things to be grateful for. Their beautifully photographed appearances are a joy to see especially, on the Sunday Selfies hosted by the Kitties Blue.

I have wonderful memories of helping Bootsie, and sharing for Precious who ended up staying as Brian’s forever family. Lots of people loved Brian, and his family carry on the tradition of thankfulness and helping others.

Print on Demand with Snapfish and Zazzle

As Dash Kitten is a cat photography blog that encourages you to take great photos of your cats and dogs you deserve to have a showcase for your images like we discuss here.

If you have a really special photograph (or scan of an older one) this is the way to show off your best or most loved photographs even if they are not perfect. (Remember, perfection is overrated.) The image of Motley here was produced in a photo canvas and works really well even though it is a little out of focus around the edges!

Zazzle and Snapfish are known worldwide, but, check to see if you have a local print bureau that will offer a similar print service. Snapfish, as I have experienced, produces good work that you will love to have on your wall or around you but, supporting a local business is just as important.

The Cat Writers’ Blog

You will have heard of the Cat Writers’ Association. Dash Kitten blog has been honoured with Certificates of Excellence and won Muse® Medallions for our Writing and Photography, and our friends Kitties Blue won a Muse® for Best Entertainment blog in 2023.

But, there is more to the CWA than prizes. They host a Conference, and monthly Zoom meetings and the Blog hosts a series of introduction to members showing how amazing the membership is. There’s an interview with me too (wooHOOO).

Flow the Movie

OK this is not a link, just a special trailer treat because I love this movie.

The surprise winner of Latvia’s very first Oscar® and a Golden Globe, it caused shockwaves through the movie industry winning ahead of Disney and Pixar. There is no dialogue, but vivid music and great storytelling tells the story with conviction and humour. Cat dad Paul even created a crossword puzzle for the movie characters that appeared in a British newspaper.

  • Cat is a solitary animal, but as its home is devastated by a great flood, he finds refuge on a boat populated by various species, and will have to team up with them despite their differences.

I hope there is something here you have not seen or read before and go off to explore a corner of online cat-dom with a happy heart. Let me know if you find any treasures I should share.
