Cat Portraiture Tips and Inspiration

Cat Charmed by a Bee

A lesson for you all. Never delete a photo until you have examined it carefully.

I have been taught this so many times by experienced photographers, and pass on this wisdom for a very good reason. Let me share why a closer look at a photo allowed me to reveal new details.

You may delete surprise captures like this one!

This is not my DSLR camera in action working at top shutter speed, it is my iPhone 12. I captured the bee is the middle of a burst of ‘live’ or moving photos as a very short video clip. The bee flew off in a flash but for a tiny moment it was in shot and caught!

Amazing isn’t it? I am not sure think I can take a shot like this again!

  1. Great photo, Marjorie! Such a wonderful lesson. I’m glad the bee flew off quickly and didn’t sting anyone. Almost looks like Paul was going to eat it. I love these types of happy surprises. I’m sharing with all my pet parents. I’m sure it’ll help a lot of folks.

  3. Wow! I once caught two butterflies doing a loop past each other. Sometimes these crazy things happen.
