You will remember my successful review of the Monkee Tree cat ladder from 2018. Well, I have exciting news about this innovative product.
If you are new to our friends at Monkee Tree I can tell you that this is furniture for cats, made to the highest standards that can be used inside or outside. It is a cut above the usual cat trees and condos.
The Monkee Tree is a modular cat ladder. The trunk and branch (or step) elements allow you to create an exciting cat-friendly jungle gym in your favourite home location, and you decide on the perfect height for you and your cat and the configuration of the steps.
Watch our earlier video to see the constructed Monkee Tree.

Dash Kitten received a Monkee Tree set for review. The opinions here are 100% our own and we are responsible for the content of this post. The blog only shares news and products we feel are relevant to our readers.
I have created a short video that shows off the amazing Monkee Tree and its construction. I hope it allows you to see just how super easy the cat ladder is to assemble.
NEW IMPROVED CAT LADDER DESIGN
The new bright green connector is at the centre of a radical redesign for the central core. A bonus? The cat-friendly steps are easy to reposition on the post at any time.
Calling this a cat tree is something of an understatement. It’s a tremendous activity centre for any cat, and the recent redesign of the assembly means that the Monkee Tree can now be put together very easily.

The newly developed trunk connector is a great move towards making assembly much easier for cat lovers. The friendly green connector screws into the next unit down and the next one. It’s that easy. No knowledge of DIY or intimidating assembly is required.
If I can put this together, so can you.
What Makes the Monkee Tree Special?
Here’s a few examples of how to use the Monkee Tree:
- a tall pillar arrangement will allow an active outdoor cat to reach a second story,
- a small setup can create a set of senior cat stairs for climbing on to a bed in comfort,
- an out of reach window becomes the perfect perching spot thanks to Monkee Tree steps.

The ladder is perfect as an indoor activity centre, or outside as a weatherproof structure. It is perfect on a
The recent addition of a scratch post element made from New Zealand carpet is an exciting and fun touch. It zips around the column ready for a spray of tempting catnip and a lot of claw exercise.

How many Monkee Trees do you think your cats will need for their own jungle gym?
Wowy, I haven’t seen one of those type of trees before. That is pretty cool that the platforms can be adjusted to different heights and positions. That is something that my carpeted tree doesn’t do. Will the Monkey Tree be adding carpet to the platforms at some point, ’cause that would provide cozy surfaces and more areas for claw sharpening? Thanks for sharing the information! Winks.
Such lucky cats who get one of these! How fun! Love the design.
I’m sure there a lot of cat people who will be quite excited about this! Having places to climb would be a wonderful way to release energy and keep the cats entertained.
I loved your initial post about the Monkey Tree. Such a fun product! It’s great that kickstarter helps ideas like this come to fruition. Goose and our foster, Isa, would LOVE this tree.
Oh yes, we loved this when we saw it on your feed! We told our neighbor who has kitties and she was thrilled!

Looks awesome. Personally, I wish it wasn’t plastic.
I am guessing that for outdoor use nothing else is as durable. Wood rots very easily without cat UNfriendly weatherproofing and glass is far too heavy.
I love how cats have so many enrichment toys and other indoor playtime devices! Monkee tree looks like a lot of fun.
Ah I remember seeing this Mondkee tree ladder a while back. I thought it was a great design then but the addition of the scratcher makes it even better! Purrfect!

What a great product, I love it and if I had a cat I would have one in the house for definite. It also looks so easy to assemble which is the best part of it as I am lousy at assembling things

This looks really cool! We recently transitioned our indoor/outdoor cat to being indoors full-time. I’m always looking for new ways to keep her active and happy. This looks like a good option! Thanks for sharing
The scratcher addition is fabulous! Great idea. I would love to grab one of these for my catio. It would be great for connecting the cat door in the window with the ground. I love how adaptable it is. I hope their kickstarter blows it out of the water.

wow, that cat tree really looks sturdy and fun. Like the fact that is adjustable. I have four cats I bet they will be really happy if I buy them a new cat tree.

One can never have enough kitty goodies … especially when they’re like this one!

This is an interesting idea – I’d use it in a screened in porch or patio but I’d prefer something that doesn’t look so plastic inside the house. But that’s me. Good luck with the project.
Very cool! I wish dogs could use cat trees, haha. I always thought they were a cool product, and some of them look really nice, but as I only have dogs I wouldn’t ever have a use for them.

That cat tree looks like a great product. It’s nice that it is adjustable and can be used for various heights and reasons.
The zipper carpet scratch addition is brilliant! It makes it easy to clean and replace if needed.

How cool is this! And such a great review too. While we have a dog… we know a LOT of cat owners that would be eager to add this to their home.

I sure could see that being totally enjoyed here, by all of us!
Really like that they have added a scratcher to the central post–that is a great add-on and replaceable too. Lovely looking product which I may invest in once my new conservatory is built.

It looks like a great product, and different in ways to a “traditional” cat tree. I love the adjustable steps that make it easy to change the height of the steps, and being made from plastic it will stay looking a lot nicer than the carpet covered ones that get frayed. The addition of the scratching post is a great idea. I imagine my cats would have loved it!
