I recently announced here on Dash Kitten that I had won several Certificates from the Cat Writers’ Association (CWA) something of which I am very proud.
The certificates have arrived and I want to share some of the splendid Certificates, and the winning images, below but first I want to share the CWA’s latest and most exciting news.
- What do you do when Covid-19 compels you to cancel a major event?
You celebrate around the world and do it ONLINE!
Meet the cosiest, and most glamorous cat event of 2020.
Glammies to Jammies
The CWA annual conference has been transformed into a magical online celebration and prize-giving ceremony.
The fun graphic below is being used to spread the word about the event, and fundraising they will be doing for Tabby’s Place a rescue local to the original conference’s venue.
Where is the CWA Event? Can I Join In?
Yes you can. The event is free to watch and the Zoom link to access it is here:
The Virtual Awards complete post can be reached here. It also contains full details for phones and other devices can be found.
You are warmly welcomed to join us on Saturday the 8th of August.
Two of My CWA Certificates
I present two of my photographs with the beautiful Certificates from the CWA. The Certificates encourage me to develop my photography skills much further and I am grateful for the vote of confidence from the CWA.
You may remember ‘Dot Roars’.
Dot’s image perhaps because I shared it when we lost our beloved girl. The picture captures her amazing cattitude and I have had a print created by Snapfish.
The second photograph is from my favourite cat Neko Ngeru Cat Adoption Cafe.
Chenzou at the Cat Cafe
Chenzou was a big part of Neko Ngeru‘s ‘meet and greet’ team of cats until his retirement earlier this year. He now lives at home but he is one of the happiest and most welcoming cats you could hope to meet.
Featured Photo ‘Love at the Cat Cafe’
You can find my favourite certificate winner on the Neko Ngeru front page. Scroll down past their cute slides and see ‘Love at the Cat Cafe’. As I presented the rights to Richelle Okada who is the subject of my photograph, I will not post the photo here.
Cat Writers’ Association, Looking to the Future.
The Cat Writers’ Association is always looking to the future and this year, the Glammies to Jammies 2019 Awards (for work done in the last calendar year) saw CWA categories expanded and revised.
These now include more specialised categories for publishing and ssocial media including microblogging for cat focused accounts on sites like Instagram, as well as redefined categories to embrace new technology around the world in 2019.
If you are a cat writer, painter, photographer or author, have you joined the CWA?
