My favourite cat cafe is moving. They have been on Jackson Street, Petone, here in New Zealand for 3 years and so many of their customers come out from the city of Wellington that they are looking for a city location instead.
The upside of the cat cafe moving is they will be busy and full all the time because they will be in the middle of town. They will be able to hold bigger movie nights and cat yoga classes. The downside is that my favourite Connor and his best friend Tiger Lily are going to a home away from the cafe.
The cafe knows that Tiger Lily wants to step down and Connor is so easy going he will be happy anywhere he sets his hat as long as it is close to his bestie Miss Tiger Lily. I want to share my favourite pictures of Tiger Lily (scroll down a little bit) and Connor at these links, when you have time to visit.
For today I want to share a fun photograph of Earl Grey who is currently up for adoption along with his brother Louie, a lovely black and white cat. They are a loving bonded pair but I could not get a photo of them together. Still, I hope this one will make you smile.
The cat cafe is moving but when they close all of the cats will go to safe homes and the cafe will begin again in Wellington with new feline staff ready to meet and greet customers. The location will be announced once the perfect place is found.
Do you remember my video of Neko Ngeru Cat Cafe when it opened in 2017? Let me share it here here because these have been happy times. People helped them move furniture, paint walls and get set up and I know the cat cafe will find the perfect premises after they close in Petone on 12th June 2021.

Earl Grey is so so handome, his plush coat is adorable. Wishing them good luck with their move and as we say in Hebrew : Meshane Makom Meshane Mazal, which means change of place, change of luck
Oh my goodness, I am in love with Earl Grey! I have always loved a gray kitty, ever since I was a child and my big sister brought home a gray cat named Heather. Earl Grey has exceptional gray color, it’s so rich! I love his eyes and adorable expression. I know moving is very hard but it sounds like the right move – just like in social media & blogging, you go where your audience is! I’m sure the move will result in more wonderful adoptions.

I wish them the best of luck in finding and setting up in a new location! Can’t wait for more cat updates and so happy for the ones that are going ‘home’!!!
I absolutely LOVE your updates about the cat cafe. I would be lying if I said that I haven’t considered starting one myself on more than one occasion. I know that it would be plenty of work to get it up and running, but the idea of being able to help cats find their forever home is unbelievably tempting. Maybe that’s what my husband and I can do down the road when we’re ready for him to leave the world of manufacturing completely for a life at home with the ‘pack’?
Earl Grey is SO cute! I love his name. That stinks that the cafe will be further from you but hopefully more cats get adopted when it’s in a busier local. Cat cafes sound like so much fun! Eventually I’m going to have to see if I can find one near me.
Well, now you will have a good excuse to have regular outings!
Sorry it will be so much further from you, though. I hope lots of kitties will find great homes when they are ‘on display’ in a busier local.
I am sure you will miss seeing these cuties. XO
Indeed, I will have to travel further to reach the cafe but I will continue to support them.
What a handsome kitty Earl Grey is!

I hope too BellaDharma!
Sounds like a mixed blessing but hopefully it’s all for the best for the kitties.
I believe so! They need a central location and the kitties love attention.
I’m sad the cafe is moving away from you, but hopeful that it will mean more rescues and adoptions. Lots of conflicting feelings! It’s good that Connor and Tiger Lily are going to a home together but sad they won’t be at the cafe where you can visit them.
We hope all goes well with the move and that many more adoptions happen!
Oh, we’re sad that the cat cafe will be moving away from your area, but it certainly does sound like it is for a good and happy reason. Sending lots of love for Tiger Lily and Connor in their new forever home. We remember when you shared that wonderful video, and we follow Neko Ngeru on Facebook.
