An update for everyone after Toulouse celebrated his one week-a-versary with us at Dash Kitten. We thought some smartphone snaps would show you how he is settling in.
The selfies also show you that grabbing your smartphone for a photo to share (even if its not perfect) can let friends and family know what is happening in your corner of the pandemic world.
Believe it or not, people care what is happening in your world so even one smartphone photo can show them all is well, or that you are coping.
Duvet Diving with Toulouse
Toulouse is nine months old and very leggy. He is already bigger than Sienna our Tortie, and Miranda our tuxedo and we think he still has growing to do. But, each day with us he makes progress towards being a more confident cat.
Toulouse still has nervous moments but his meetings with everycat are supervised so he meets everyone in the household with no fear of harm.
If we have to go out, Toulouse has a whole room to himself with litter facilities, food and water. He also has access to a window bed for Bird TV.

Smartphone Photo Adjustments
How did I adjust the photos? Well, both were came out better than I expected so I did not have to make major adjustments.
I lightened the ‘duvet photo’ to bring out the cheerful colours of the cover, and I ‘dodged‘ the Monkee Tree step at the front of the photograph to give it a bit more interest and texture.
Knowing the time of day in the photos might help you as well.
The duvet photo was an evening shot and there were strong contrasts in light and shade from the window snapshot, but both successful snapshots show how great even a basic smartphone can be for your photography.
- PS You can see how the Monkee Tree was put together here.
