Things are warming up a little bit here in New Zealand for my solo tuxedo portrait, and not only is the sun shining more but this coming Wednesday, Wellington, New Zealand hosts the 2020 science fiction and fantasy WorldCon.
- What the heck is a WorldCon?
The Covid-19 crisis meant there could not be a real life convention and rather than cancel their once in a lifetime opportunity to show the Sci-Fi world what New Zealand can do, CoNZealand has gone where no WorldCon has gone before. The conference is now wholly part of the virtual world!
Part of the real world here in NZ is our tuxedo cat portrait subject – Miranda. I loved the slightly spring like look given by the sunny pale yellow tones in her photo. The picture was taken early evening as we sat outside.
Then, when I downloaded the photograph, and took another look, I noticed the strong shape of her dark tuxedo face colours so, curious to see how it would look in monochrome I did a conversion to black and white.

What different to you think it would make to my solo tuxedo portrait? Which do you prefer?
Cat Cafe 100 News
One of my favourite places in the whole world is Neko Ngeru Cat Adoption Cafe in Petone, New Zealand and this past week they reached an amazing landmark that I hope you will join me in celebrating.
Con-CAT-ulations to Neko Ngeru Cat Adoption Cafe
The news made one of New Zealand’s national newspapers with a very positive report and featured current cafe resident Evee, a tabby kitten. However, the 100th kitty adoption is pretty Domina (now known as Momo at home) who I photographed before she left.
She is sister to a pretty tabby named Peanut. Peanut was named by us, as sponsors, in honour of our own Peewee cat. Oh, now you want to see Domina’s sister?
Here you are!
Although they are sisters, Peanut is feisty, stocky and short haired with a tabby cattitude and Domina is pretty delicate and a totally spoiled fluffy longhaired princess.
