Remember Me Thursday is now in its seventh year. Can you believe it, and we have created our third #RememberMeThursday Movie for this post.
As Mike Arms, the president and CEO of the Helen Woodward Animal Centre says “We all come from different countries, cultures, and backgrounds, but together, we can raise our voices and share one life-saving message and literally save millions of pets on this one day.”
This one day, from now on, needs to be about one thing.

Grassroots organisations are getting together and creating programmes around the world but these will be a ‘one day wonder’ unless we as pet owners, cat lovers and dog lovers, rabbit friends and guinea pig cuddlers, press onward day after day with an important task. Education.
Pet Lovers Need to Educate Others
All of us can encourage and help to get the message of responsible pet ownership across. We can do it without getting ‘preachy’ and without making people feel resentful and pressured.
Spay and Neuter is a great idea
Encourage people to spay their new kitten, or neuter that cute pitbull pup. Be gentle but persistent.
Some people don’t know where to start, so help them find vouchers or cheap desexing options. Even people seem lazy, think of the stress you save the pet bu putting a stop to countless litter that end up in kill shelters.
Push yourself a little, make the effort.
TNR works
Just ask my friend Savvy and her family who are the engine room of Project Delta View Cats.
Delta View is trialling a visionary way of helping communities and already they are making huge differences in their community. Check out their latest success here.
Fostering works miracles
Don’t believe me? Ask Mia Lancaster of Place for Cats in New York City.
Thanks to pledges like mine a ginger ninja called Leo was saved. He looked a total trainwreck in the terrible picture at ACC but, once in a
Every foster means a life saved from NYC’s ACC. Are you in NYC? Can you foster? Mia wants to meet you.
Lovely post!
We just loved your video message. Every day you have to work just a little bit harder to get the word out there to everybody. Hopefully, this post will help. thank for sharing.
We do, and enough of us will keep going until we succeed!
As you say, the best way to change perceptions for the better is through education! Spay and neuter and TNR works! Love your video!
Thank you Dash Kitten team for mentioning our Project Delta View Cats and for the link to my post. Educating our community about the importance of spay and neuter is our number one goal. Your video is excellent.
WOW what an amazing video, you are so talented and I need to learn to be able to do what you. I need to win a lottery to get the right equipment 🙂 Thank you so much for such an awesome video and speaking out. As we said we must not be silent.
This is a great post and video for a very important event. We’re glad that each year we see more and more people getting involved and raising awareness for animals in need.
They need us!
that was one pawesome, pawesome and deeply touching video. Well done you. We wish we could save them all.
Fantastic post and video! This is one of the most important days of the year as animal advocates.
I agree 100% it is.
We just loved your video message. Every day you have to work just a little bit harder to get the word out there to everybody. Hopefully, this post will help. Thanks for the wonderful share. Have a fantastic rest of your day.
Good info, well written! It is so true about educating making a difference. I’ve casually mentioned to folks with new pets the low-cost spay/neuter clinics in our area and told stories about how some behavior problems ‘magically’ disappeared after desexing – it’s not hard to spread the word and not sound preachy. I’m so glad some of my educating did some good, it was worth the trouble of speaking up.
You are talking the talk. This is exactly how to approach people. Make it to their benefit. Well done you.
It’s so very important and we all, as hard as it might seem, need to step up our game a bit to help those that are counting on us. The NYCACC is an evil killing machine and is filled with evil heartless humans. Thanks for joining the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
Such important messages, such a great, nay awesome video message too.
Getting the message out there has to be a year-long activity and then that is only the start as actions must follow. Small steps lead to BIG results. But together we can all do it.
