Today’s selfies for the Kitties Blue hop are of Miranda our tuxedo girl, and d
The pictures are part of my experiment to show the potential for photographing other pets and even products for reviews. “Never be afraid to try” is becoming my mantra every time I take a picture. You should be the same.
Thoughtful Tuxedo Camera Settings
The thoughtful tuxedo post above was taken surprisingly late in the evening which gives Miranda’s fur is a brightness and a light golden glow. Her eyes are also brighter.
I am still exploring Av mode with my Canon and the camera’s preset mode has allowed me to focus on my favourite tuxedo kitty, blurring the background nicely.
This effect, sometimes known as ‘Bokeh’ is often the one that people want to achieve so camera users might like to note the camera information under each picture.
One trick I learned from Glogirly (mom to Katie and Waffles) was to lighten one eye just a little bit so there is a definite point of focus. You can see how she improved my picture of Harvey here.
I brightened Miranda’s right eye a small amount and sharpened her fur as, frustratingly, one of my bugbears seems to be not getting the fur sharp enough.
The second picture shows slimline Miranda showing off her magnificent tuxie cat whiskers. It’s not perfect but it is a real favourite of mine.
How amazing are your cat’s whiskers, are they like Miranda’s?
Have a good week, be creative, have fun and make sure you stop by the Kitties Blue for the best blog hop in town. The Kitties Friday picture of dusty coloured, delightful Sawyer is a portrait of peaceful quiet.
Oh, Miranda and miss Majorie, we’re having so much trouble to find your bloggie and when we found it finally, yesterday, we did leave a comment, but then the comment disappeared and we were getting in…Aargh…. But, persefurrers as we are, we came back to leave a comment even if it took us again a long road to get here’and hope the comment will come through *crosses paws* 😀 You look very sweet, Miranda and your mom knows how to catch your beautiful whiskers and yourself of course very well. Enjoy the camera! Pawkisses for a wonderful almost weekend to all of you???
PS maybe it is of the storm, that we can’t comment…we’ll see 😉
I think there is nowhere for me to add our blog linky in Blogger. It is something I am working on.
I really need to get my stuff together and work on white balance. Lovely as always, Miranda.
