Its time for a review of the pet photography posts for November 2019. I know it is not always possible for readers to keep up with weekly posts so this roundup gives me a chance to update you on what’s fresh on the blog for November.
Do you have new DSLR user frustrations? Struggle with pet product photographs? Not have enough light? Some of my November posts might make your life a little bit easier!

Better Cat Photos with Your Canon
If you are relatively new to photography like me, you will find you constantly discover ‘new’ things your camera can do. Unfortunately finding an affordable cutaway to show you what a DSLR looks like inside proved too expensive ($215 on Gettyimages anyone?) Instead, I have included a very cool video that shows you.
For everyone who has a DSLR, this post encourages you to check out the fun stuff you can discover that your camera does. Canon, Nikon, Lumix and others all have short cuts to make you smile.
My First Photo in Print
I was proud to announce to everyone that my first cat photograph has appeared in print. You can read the full report and see the whole image at the post link.
I am so thrilled to be considered good enough to be part of my favourite cat cafe’s publicity material.
My Smartphone Lighting Gift Guide
One comment that appears often on the blog here is a pet lover or blogger’s issues with lights and lighting. I do not have any specialised lights yet, although they are part of a professional pet photographers kit if they have a studio.
For readers, I checked Amazon and I confess my thought was ‘this will be expensive’. However, Amazon proved me wrong as you can see in this post. The range of options is huge and not everything costs a lot of money!
Pet Product Photography for Bloggers
I see a lot of photographs of pet products that simply don’t work. Because people try too hard to be professional when that’s not what their readers are looking for.
Our post gives a lot of helpful and easy to use tips to get a product shoot up and running fast.
I have a Prime Lens (50mm) and a Speedlight flash on my Christmas list to make my pet photography posts better. As today is Santa’s List Day I thought I would make sure he got the hint.
What do you want from Santa so he can add it to his list?
You are an amazing photographer (and teacher) and getting published is a huge deal! Congrats!
I am so happy that you got published. You always have great tips. Thanks for hosting the parade, we will join Saturday. XO
We love your tips, thanks!
You’ve come so, so far with your photography, Marjorie! Bravo!
I am so proud of your photo being featured! I bought my husband some lights with umbrellas on Amazon and they were not very expensive. They make a HUGE difference in photographing indoors.
It’s so darn cool that you’ve come so far with your photography skills and it’s wonderful you share with others! Thank you!!!
We think your photos are great!
Thanks for sharing your photography tips 🙂
