Paekakariki Hill Road

Paekakariki Hill Road

You are here for a wild ride on Paekakariki Hill Road one of New Zealand’s craziest local roads, its close to Wellington and a lot of fun if you like twists and turns!

I’m Harvey Button and I want to welcome to my first ever Middle Earth Monday, giving you a view of Clean and Green New Zealand! OK let’s get started with some local territory.

Kapiti Coast View

Edgar came to visit us here in NZ and he got the full treatment ending up here at the Paekakariki Hill Road Look out for a superb view up the coast.

If you look to the right, you can see the road slopes down, although it’s pretty hard to try and take a picture while driving a crazy bumper car switchback so Edgar posed in the Lookout at the top!

You can also see the State Highway on the left of the picture as it travels through Paekakariki itself before travelling north for a long way up the coast. Oh, how to you pronounce it? Paekakariki you mean? Try this Pay-Kaka-Ree-Kee and see how you get on!

See you next time folks!

  1. Hi Harvey Button, thanks for showing us a bit about New Zealand. We would love to visit one day. Mommy says it is a very long plane ride though.

  2. Hi Sweet Repurrter! I told your mommy that my sons have been to NZ. The last visit was a few months ago and while their host and friend lives in Auckland they ALL went on vacation to the Sough Island. I recall them speaking of that fabulously fun road! xoxo
