Today’s Thankful Thursday post joins Brian and shows something a bit different on the photography front with not a cat to be seen.
Bowling with the Tinies
Last Sunday I was lucky enough to join a group from Deaf Aotearoa the local non-hearing community.
It was nerve-racking in a way as my sign language is far from basic but at least I was there, camera in hand.
This little boy was full of mischief and determined to bowl his own (very heavy) bowling ball. Thankfully there are sloping racks to roll the balls down and he had a lot of fun with help from his dad.
It turns out photographing children has a lot in common with cats. You need to be active and alert for the opportunity to take a photo that people will like.
The second picture is a lot of fun and shows my sign language teacher’s daughter just after she let her ball roll down the ramp and watched it rumble down the lane to hit the skittles.
I am thankful I was able to take these pictures as it gives me a chance to venture into new territory – photographing young people. Much easier when they are absorbed in doing something interesting.
Not a cat to be seen here, but you will find plenty in our recent Black and white Photography for Beginners post. Check it out here.
Have a great day everyone.
