National Tabby Day with Dot Kitten, Rescue Cat

30/04/2020 by Marjorie Dawson 18 Comments

Today, according to my Cats of the World Planner is National Tabby Day and I am celebrating by showcasing Dot Kitten, she is sisfur to Dash Kitten, Founder Cat of the blog.

Tabby cats have wonderful fur and as I have learned more about my DSLR I have been able to take better cat closeups.

National Tabby Day Spotlight – Dot Kitten

Did you know its National Tabby Day?

As she is a chatterbox I am often able to get pictures of her meowing, and these are the kind of pictures that a cat lover will treasure. If you remember my post about action pictures, you will remember how great ‘Sport’ mode is on your camera.

Some of these I know regular readers may remember but, forgive me for including them again. I am very proud of our tabby girl.

This picture was used by our friend Savvy on her Friday fun meme’s page and it was an accidental shot that still makes me smile today. The weather was warm and slightly overcast so the cats and family were sat outside and I literally laid down on the driveway for the picture. (More photo tips here)

The colours of a tabby cat coat mean that even a closeup like this one show so many gorgeous and rich shades of brown and tan colours.

One of the advantages of a closeup like this is you can capture the eyes of a cat and, sometimes, eyes look like semi-precious stones with flecks of vibrant colour and ships of deepest dark.

Will you help us celebrate National Tabby Day

Finally, a cute baby picture from several years ago. Yes, it’s blurry, but it shows Dot’s curiosity and cattitude. This picture is from the times before I had my DSLR but I love it because she has an almost tortie like sternness in that gaze!

Will you be celebrating Tabby Day with Dot Kitten and I?

    Sweet little Tabby Dot!

Minko was a wee bit of tabby, when the light was right you could see stripes on his forehead and tail. Guess then, he was more of a lynx-point than a bluepoint!
