Five Things Online Friends Do

Five Things Online Friends Do

Our online friends can be as true and solid as any in the real world.

If you are on Twitter, Tumblr, Facebook or Pinterest like we are, read on to hear why we should all be friends.

Here are some of the things a true online buddy will do for you.

Your Online Friends Will…….

Be there for you when you lose a fur friend or a human family or friend. They can help you through the tough times when you need to talk.

  • This is support.

They will laugh at your jokes on Twitter or Facebook, even if they have heard it a elebentybillion times before, with limitless patience.

  • This is friendship

They will not measure you by what you eat. We all love premium brands for their quality and positive support of the feline world, and would love the world to eat them, but a cat loved and cared for on Meow Mix stands shoulder to shoulder with a cat fed on raw or a premium brand.

  • This is friendship.

They will step up when you need to participate in an auction, or fundraiser. They may donate items, share organising skills, bid on items or share like demons on your behalf, if they can’t afford to bid. They will do their best to make sure you fund a cat’s urgent treatment, or a pup’s surgery, or help someone short of rent. They may not know you in real life but, if you have long-standing online friendships, these build trust.

  • This is commitment.

They will not judge you by the colour of your fur, or the number of paws you walk upon, or the number of eyes and ears you have. You may be a pedigree, a stray, a feral or a rescue – to your online buddies, you are a friend

  1. That’s so true!! I got the most supportive comments from the pet blogging community on my ‘how to cope with pet loss’ post!! <3

  2. This is a very nice post. Online friends are really good to have. I’m an introvert and a home-body and rarely go anywhere. Only if I have to. So online friends are important. Fun post. Thanks for this.

  3. Great points, I agree with all of them. I also value my online friends who don’t criticize when we have different points if view; we are all passionate about our beliefs but we respect each other even when we believe a bit differently or have different opinions.

  4. Funnily enough, I found how great my online friends were at helping me recently when business has been challenging. I have met some in person too but certainly they are supportive and a very positive thing in my life.

  5. Really great points! I have been taking this blogging journey solo, but recently decided it’s not the best idea. I’ve been missing out on connections with fellow animal lovers, and when you don’t have many of those in your life (which I don’t), having them online is the next best thing.
