I have been posting a lot about cameras and how to use them over recent months, so I thought a smartphone and DSLR roundup of posts would be a help for anyone who needs to refer to them.

There are one or two surprises, especially for smartphone users in this week’s brief post.

DSLR Roundup with Miss Max from the Cat Cafe

Our DSLR post roundup

  • If you think your smartphone can’t good pictures, think again. Check this post about bees to see how amazing smartphones can ‘be’.
  • Panicking about that DSLR you bought? Try this!
  • Taking action cat pictures. Beginner’s inspiration.
  • Think you can’t make a pet movie? Give it a try with our useful tips and encouragement.
  • Smartphone movies the lazy way? Don’t edit!

CWA Certificate news

The Pet Parade has been spotlighting my camera journey and I am pleased to announce that two of my posts on a moviemaking or science theme have won certificates in the Cat Writers Association Annual Awards.

  1. Filming Solo for Your Rescue or Cat Blog
  2. Facial Recognition Technology Helps Find Lost Pets

The Cat Writers Association have very high standards of excellence, so this is a major achievement for me and the blog.

The CWA is also celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2019. A tremendous achievement of consistency in these times of transformation and change. The CWA are holding their conference in St. Louis Mo. in April.

Sparkle the tortie

If you are a cat creative you can attend. You do not have to be a member of the CWA, and you will learn lots about cats.

Are you celebrating a win this week? The Crew and your Pet Parade co-hosts want to hear about it so let us see your best social media posts in the hop! FB posts, blog posts, tweets and Instagram visuals are all welcome in our DSLR Roundup!

  6. Congratulations on your awards – I am so glad you have been recognized for all your hard work getting everyone into videos. Your articles make it so much easier- well done. I have to say, I love my iPhone and my Sony 4K Handycam- even that I screw up the settings so still holding off a new camera and lenses. We shot Kids’ Pet Club with Red Cameras in 6K and lots of lenses and lights- very glad I just nodded encouragement to my amazing DOP. Thanks for the recap.

  10. That’s amazing congratulations on the certificates! I’m definitely going to check out the roundup. Jack looked so adorable the other night and it would have made a great picture, but I grabbed my camera and remembered pictures always look orange inside in the evening. I fiddled around with the settings, found one that worked but now I’m stuck in it. It’s about time I learned how to use the camera, I won’t tell you how long ago I bought it!
