A Kite Surfer on Middle-Earth Monday?
Don’t forget that it is summer here in New Zealand and with strong winds blowing in from Wellington Harbour and the Cook Strait beyond, there is plenty of opportunities for sports folk to sail and kite surfing.
There is also plenty of opportunity for walks along Petone’s long Esplanade, visits to galleries and cafe’s along the shorefront, as well as popping into Neko-Ngeru Cat Cafe up in Jackson Street.

Today the weather is gorgeous if a little breezy, and if you look out across the harbour, you can see Wellington in the distance. It climbs the rolling hills and out of sight into the hazy light. On a day when we get Southerly winds blowing through the waves are much higher and the sea rougher.

Here’s a fun puzzle for you!
In this second image, can you spot the person guiding the billowing kite floating above the sea? We are not sure it its a man or a woman as both take part in this exciting sport. It’s a bit tricky as the figure is close to the grid but can you find them?
