Budget Gift Guide for Pet Lovers

Budget Gift Guide for Pet Lovers

Welcome to our Budget Gift Guide for pet lovers. Shopping online is the easiest thing to do in the crazy run up to Christmas. Our budget guide is the perfect way to find something to thank a friend for a good deed, or someone for help received in the past year.

You can shop by ‘phone, tablet or desktop computer! From our review you can jump off to a variety of sites for further fun and shopping, and don’t forget our book recommendations here!

What You will Find in Our Budget Gift Guide for Pet Lovers!

We have searched for lowcost items that will make the perfect small Christmas present. Our remit was treasures of handmade quality as much as we can, or of local manufacture. Our shopping budget is £20/$25US/23€ and we are including gifts from the USA, Canada and Great Britain.

Scrooge Tip 😉 Don’t waste money buying gifts for people who will certainly ‘regift’ them. Buy those folks a clothing voucher so they have something to wear!

Colorado Catnip

A longtime supporter of Dash Kitten, Jana at Colorado Catnip is a skilled sewer and creates gorgeous and colourful gifts for your pets.  Her fun and cosy ‘fish‘ mats are perfect for your sofa, or wherever your pet wants to lounge.  The second budget item at Colorado Catnip is their fun catnip toys, robust, inexpensive and with organic catnip they are the perfect small gift for cats and kittens.

Although her pet beds are outside this budget post they are worth a look, words like cosy, warm, and comfortable all come to mind. If she doesn’t have your favourite colour Jana can create one to match your decor!

At last, a Cat mug for a Man, we love it! There is a mug for everyone at artRuss in Canada. Wisecracks and witty sayings across a range of holidays from Christmas, to weddings and pet people.  Their last Christmas dates are on the front page of their Etsy shop but we recommend early ordering as closer to Christmas postage all over the world suddenly starts to creak under the strain of so many parcels. Miniature Pet Portrait – Ormskirk, Great Britain

1) This is irresistible and the perfect gift or memorial for a pet owner BUT 2) the waiting list is 7 months for a portrait as oil paints take a long time to dry. We know, what’s it doing here? We felt you would like to see this as the entire proceeds (£20) go to the Cinnamon Trust who help the elderly and terminally ill with their pets. Each portrait is a miniature, 6.3 x 8.9 cms or 2.5 x 3.5 inches, maybe the size of a business card and hand painted in oils. Price £20. (Plan ahead for special Birthdays and Anniversaries next year. )

Stephanie Guy also does a range of other portraits and prints that make perfect little thank you gifts to slip in an envelope.

Hare Medium Journal, Great Britain

This gorgeous journal by Clare Ashton is a true work of handmade art. Not only does she handmake the superb felt, she screen prints her own drawings onto the journals. Each journal is then lined with organic cotton. Luxury at this price? You bet!

The ‘journal’ itself is Seawhite from Brighton, in the UK. These are the same sketch books that Mum uses, so we can verify that the paper are of good quality for notes, sketches and capturing that inspirational moment.  Price £20

Dogs Luv Us and We Luv Them

  5. So much fun and loveliness in this post. I love the owl soaps and the fragrances sound wonderful – I adore anything with lavender. And oh my gosh, those journals with the felted and screen-printed covers – absolutely stunning! I’m going to tweet this out, too!

  6. Great report, Harvey! We love Triple T Studio! TW just ordered from them. She also just messaged back and forth with Jana. I’m gonna have to look into the portrait to get Pop. Thanks for the pawsome picks.

  7. I LOVE the work the Cinnamon Trust does. A reader told me about them after my post about estate planning for our furry friends (unfortunately, that was before I got involved with BlogPaws and the international blogging community so I just focused on resources in the US). Knowing how a formerly homeless kitten saved my life, their mission really touched my heart. Thank you for mentioning the Cinnamon Trust … I’d always meant to expand my original post and then it slipped my mind.
