I am thankful for the wonderful pet photographs of my fellow bloggers and creatives, and for their inspiring contributions to the ‘Close-Up’ theme this month on the blog. Do you struggle to get a good picture when you get close to your pet?

There is something special about getting a really good close-up and you will find lots of inspiring cat and dog pictures here.

A close-up of a cat or another pet can be a treasured link to the past and a visible celebration as well as a memory.

A picture makes our memories more solid and I am thankful I have so many pictures I printed off of our cat Peanut.

Dougie’s Pet Portrait

Ann Adamus from Zoolatry inspires us all with her creativity. I admire her photographs and her wonderful designs. Her dog Dougie looks solid, reliable and rather handsome.

Cheeky Mini Cat

Our colleague Hindy Pearson shared this picture and treasured memory taken with an unknown camera but she guesses an older phone or point and shoot. Hindy is a senior dog specialist and always takes time to share our rescue appeals.

This picture is the perfect example of a treasured memory close-up.

I absolutely love this picture of my cat Mini (RIP), it has to be my all-time favourite of any I’ve ever taken.”

Pandora the Gracious Longhair

Our third pet on the spotlight on Thankful Thursday is one of our favourite bloggers. Puzzlers, adventurers and book reviewers, there are few limits to the talents of the Bionic Basil B Team.

Meet Pandora, photographed with an iPhone.

Long-haired beauty and confirmation that you don’t always need a fancy camera to hit the beauty jackpot.

Everyone can enjoy taking pet pictures, and I have blogged about it here. Join Dash Kitten now and celebrate Thankful Thursday.

  1. Yeah … a dog, too! I hope we signed in the right place … just want to be a “general follower” of your blog … not really sign up for a course as such … not sure we did that though. Sigh.
Love this whole series you are doing. Thanks!
