Harvey Update

First a thank you to everyone who sent good wishes for Harvey’s dental earlier this week. He was kept in unexpectedly for extra fluids which meant a night away from home. But, he is home and on painkillers for a few days. I am very proud of him coming through, however bad his kidneys are.

Today’s selfie of Miranda is not as monochrome as it seems.

With Miranda the tuxedo cat, and a drive of grey tarmac with spots of grey/green lichen, she could fool you into thinking I had added a monochrome filter.

The photograph settings for Miranda’s portrait are as follows: ISO 160 F 5.0 and Shutter speed 1/640. I took the picture mid-morning, and the sun is still quite low in the sky. We are approaching New Zealand spring right now.

Note: I was recommended to try raising my F Stop (shutter speed) for more depth of field when I do black and white closeups, I will be experimenting soon!

Don’t forget to join the selfies hosted by the Kitties Blue this and every week for a lot of fun and new friends!

  1. Sending loving, purring, healing thoughts for Harvey. Tell him I can relate, ’cause I got abducted by the aliens a few months ago and I have kidney disease, too.

Miss Marjorie, Mom finally realized that by switching to Chrome browser we can now view your photos on your posts. For some reason when she had it on Safari, we couldn’t see them. Purr purr purr.

The selfie is lovely. I like the way Miranda’s shadow ear reaches out to the lichen.

  6. Love this selfie. Naturally black and white still brings colour on the dullest of days and even in black and white. Love the shadows, too.
