A Portrait of Tuxedo Cat Jess

29/09/2019 by Marjorie Dawson 10 Comments

Today’s selfie is a portrait of tuxedo Jess from the cat cafe and it for a special reason.

Jess is retiring from her duties as a worker cat, to her forever home.

Cute picture of a cat looking upwards, near a window
Jess. her keen and eager eye watching a wand toy

If the family pass the two week trial period Jess will not be coming back to the cafe which, being selfish, I am a bit sad about. Her presence at the cafe always made me smile.

Her quiet demeanour hid a fiendishly playful spirit that could leap and twist like a dervish, and as ‘Marketing Cat’ she spent quality time posed in the bed on the front window tempting passers-by to enter the cafe.

Tongue Out Tuesday with Jess

The cats and myself at Dash Kitten wish Jess well in her new home, and a long and happy retirement.

Kia hari to kaainga koa, Jess*

Even though she will be missed, it is very good news that Jess has her own Forever Home to go to.

That is great news for Jess. I know she will be missed, but at least it is a good kind of missing.

I admire Jess for all her commitment, and the many long hours of PR work in the window (she is a tux after all) and the work of all the cats at the Cafe. Also the staff, and yourself for taking such wonderful images and sharing their lives, and the fun and games on the way to adoption.
Paws up for wonderful Jess and her well-earned retirement.

PS. Are they throwing a party?

We are happy for Jess and her new family, but how bittersweet that you will not see her at the cafe anymore. What lovely photos you took of her.
