Welcome to Pet Parade 260 and thank you all for the warm welcome on behalf of Dash Kitten. We are so glad to see you back again and look forward to visiting your blogs and social media whirls this week.

The Pet Parade Moves to Wednesday!

Thank you everyone for voting in our poll and also for your comments on your preferred day. Mid-week seems to lead by quite a way and we have decided the move that the wide open spaces of Wednesday will appear on:

Wednesday 15th of August

The Pet Parade New Banner 2018

That makes this week a short one but don’t stress. It is just this single time and there will be a fun giveaway to celebrate the Wednesday move. The alternative was a much longer wait and no-one would be happy with that. We would be missing a Pet Parade which is just plain wrong!

This week’s featured blog

Meet Bend Spay & Neuter, a small spay and neuter project that our friend @Danapixie fundraises for. [NOTE: not every feature will be a cause but please read on to understand why we chose this one.]Pet Parade 260

Dana and Jim’s beloved cat Tsk passed away. To this day we remember the moment we heard he had gone. It was unexpected and very sudden, so we feel it is appropriate to honour a kitty friend by spotlighting a cause he loved.

  • The mission of Bend Spay+Neuter Project is to provide affordable, preventative veterinary care for cats and dogs at risk of suffering in order to create a more humane community. By providing free and affordable programs like the HOPE Pet Food Bank, Wellness Clinics, and assistance with spay/neuter, BSNP does everything we can to keep pets in their homes! – Bend

Congrats to Jean! There’s more non-profits trying to keep pets in homes by helping with care which I think is admirable.

Congrats to the winner. Speaking of neuter I just recently started volunteering again at a local spay/neuter clinic and rescue. It’s a really great organization because they help provide low cost options for people who cannot afford expensive vet care. I also add my link!! Holey moley that Linkez thingy is soooooooooooo much easier! Looking forward to your next update.

I love organizations that help pets get the care they need and affordably to those that love them. I am going to pop on over next week and add my link to your Pet Parade!

Sounds like a fabulous organisation. Of course we need to make sure we can afford to have a pet before we welcome one into the family, but circumstances change and it’s sad to think how often finances tear families apart. The cost of spaying and neutering is so expensive, yet in my opinion it’s such a crucial part of pet care it should be affordable for everyone. The pet overpopulation problem is serious enough without adding to it.

I have added my link to today’s post. I only post on Fridays now but will try and remember to post old Wordless Wednesdays on the new day. Back near the beginning of our blog Eric used to post a Widebody Wednesday too. Maybe I should look some of those up also.
