Do you keep an eye on the blog sponsors and businesses who have supported you over the past year? Pet bloggers have some of the best quality sponsors on the ‘net, and these businesses know that cat, or dog or pet blogs as a whole are niche market influencers whose words matter.

When companies develop new products, there may be brand ambassador opportunities for those who make a good impression with a blog post, and new developments in a sponsor’s technology or products might alert you to a chance to approach them to work with that company again, if you keep them on your radar.

Angus the ginger cat We would LOVE to work with you again!

Blog Sponsors, Like You, Keep Busy

You might be worrying about what to add to your content schedule, in the meantime your favourite sponsor, being a focused company, will be moving ahead working on developing new lines and products. They might be investing in new equipment, or technology, or a new line in healthy treats. So be aware of their developments, and congratulate them on achievements and awards along the way.

Blogger sponsorship is a serious business and support by a sponsor can be valuable for all of us. With this in mind we wanted to let you know what some of Dash Kitten’s own sponsors have been up to this year and encourage you to check your own favourite companies. We have done blog posts for Petcube, Pioneer Pet and Basepaws DNA. Each of them has made waves recently in the pet world.

Our Blog Sponsors – Pioneer Pet

We love our own super stylish Raindrop drinking fountain from Pioneer Pet, and it remains Harvey’s drinking fountain of choice. How could we not love their new model the ‘ Swan’ when we saw it’s image begin to appear online?

It is breathtakingly elegant and super stylish. Not only are we impressed but the Swan won second prize in the Global Pet Expo New Product Showcase recently. (FB link). Congratulations to Pioneer Pet on such a prestigious Award!

Our Blog Sponsors – Petcube

Not ones to stand still after the development of the original Petcube Camera, and the elegant Petcube Play which we loved reviewing, the company has gone on to produce a fantastic treat dispensing option the Petcube Bites. Petcube is also working with beta testers to refine and enhance the ground breaking Petcube Phone App.

Petcube Home Camera Pet Cam

Their research team is responsive to suggestions of us in the beta testing team so we feel as though any suggestions and responses are helping to make the next Petcube App even better! Real brand engagement and a lot of fun too.

Blog Sponsor – Basepaws

One of our most popular posts this year has been our report on Cat DNA, and the positive work done by Basepaws to make the lives of all cats better with its Catkit.

Basepaws recently began rolling out its important Alpha Report to cat owners who have used the DNA Catkit. The report reveals a lot of information about how close cats might be to ‘top breeds’ and their kinship with wild cats.

The whole report will be with CatKit owners soon, and as with a lot of Internet of Things tech’; cat lovers, and Basepaws, are discovering more and more as time goes by. It really brings home how groundbreaking science is in the cat world.

With the help of computer technology, a lot of exciting information is being uncovered and will be circulated to Catkit owners over the coming months.

  • You can get your own Catkit through our DNA post at a substantial discount.

Not a Blog Sponsor but….

Their original Kickstarter brought Catipilla to our attention

As a family of active cats who love their garden, we loved the idea of a robust, and durable climbing element that could be attached to buildings, fences and walls, both inside and out.

The Catipilla concept was so successful with backers that it was eventually funded by a major company looking for a visionary investment that had large amount of popular support.

Those of us who backed the Catipilla got their climbing sets and the company has developed its range to include lighter weight models and implemented a successful reduction in its prices.

Catipilla Climbing Frame

Catipilla recently took a step into the world of retail. It is being stocked by Pets at Home a major retail website. The range will eventually be available in Pets at Home shops, just in time for the improvement in Northern Hemisphere weather that will allow the installation of Catipilla’s in catios, around gardens and on interior walls! They are a company who continue to develop and grow and it is exciting to see each step they take.

That swan fountain is very impressive. Cats seem to love drinking fresh flowing water so I am sure it is a big hit. Thanks for the update on your sponsors.

What an informative and well structured post. Your tips for bloggers are much appreciated! I was particularly intrigued by the information you shared about Petcube working with you and being receptive to your suggestions as a beta tester. It sounds like you are building many lasting relationships with great brands!

I actually don’t have sponsors, at least not yet. I do my work in spare time, partly because I fear commitment to promoting somebody’s products across-the-board. Instead, I’m trying to sell my book 🙂

We’re very fortunate that we’ve had a few takers too. We’d love more though! For some reason, I haven’t gotten e-mail notifications of your posts recently 🙁
Good thing I always make sure to stop by!

It looks like you have some amazing sponsors! I’ve been really concentrating on working with brands this year and have encountered some fantastic companies and products.

I don’t do very many sponsored posts, but like you, I really like the products/brands that I do work with. It has to be the right fit, or it isn’t worth it. I’m a bit shy, so I don’t typically reach out, but I guess I should!

It pays to reach out sometimes. Especially if the brand is a fit for your niche.

Great point and what I do is on holidays like Easter etc I send them an email wishing them as it is as I feel a nice reminder to them that I still do exist.

You have a great set of sponsors! Congrats to you and them for their achievements. This is good advice for us newer bloggers to remember. So far I only have a few contributors via guest posting but I still like to follow them and show support for their hard work and on social as well.

All of these sponsors look great! And it makes sense to keep up with what they are doing. I haven’t checked into finding sponsors yet-guess I should.

Fish with a side of DNA that made me laugh out loud!

Very good advice! There are some wonderful companies out there and always important to keep an eye on current/past sponsors and potential future ones as well.

I had a few companies contact me about an opportunity for a sponsored post but I haven’t yet decided to try that way of monetizing my website. I am still a new blogger so I feel I need to improve a lot before charging for my posts. 🙂

I cannot even tell you how many wonderful brands we have worked for during the years and how loyal we have been. I cannot wait to attend BlogPaws to meet more and create new bonds for mutual benefit. I am glad you have been successful too engaging with the sponsors that support your initiates.

I really should get my human on the sponsorship train… she has been lazy about approaching brands. I may have to do it myself at BlogPaws!
