Hello Sunday Selfie folk. This is our first post for a week and it is a sad one as my beloved Mum passed away yesterday, but I have some special city selfies and kitty selfies too. I am such a lucky lady to have had such a mam (as they are called in the North East of England) and she would want me to stand proudly for her.
Doreen Dawson was an amazing lady of such courage and determination, she was my rock and a cat lover.
BUT I do not want this to be a sad post. Please join me and celebrate cats, and the sudden arrival of snow in the North East of England where I am right now. For me, coming from a much warmer part of the world, New Zealand, this is a bit of a shock!
From my motel window this is the blustery ‘mini Beast from the East’ sweeping across today. It is supposed to go tomorrow!
I want to celebrate our cat heritage with two selfies. One is of Mam’s cat Ginger (or Ginge) and the other is our friend Erin. Ginger will be staying with one of Mam’s carers, Denise. We were so lucky to be met at Heathrow Airport from the ultra early red-eye by Mark Watson, Erin’s dad, and I was very lucky to meet Erin in person.
I fly home on Wednesday and hope to put up a post after that. In the meantime, please join the Sunday Selfie blog hop and the wonderful Kitties Blue. Forgive me for not visiting this week but I hope you understand why.

It was a real pleasure to meet you too, Auntie Marjorie, and quite a surprise when the staff disappeared so early in the morning. Your mam was one great lady, and a real pillar for you, and I know will be dearly missed. Thank you for showing us Ginge, she is an extra special lady in her own right and great to know she was with your mam too.
Gentle purrs

I was waking up in the night worrying about Ginger. We will help with his feeding and vet costs as his new mum is not a rich lady.

How nice that Mark Watson met you at the airport. It appears that you’ve been surrounded by love in England, both four- and two-legged. A poignant journey has been supported by friends, your mom, and by her caretakers. It will be wonderful to see you next month and give you an overdue hug.

My dear Marjorie,
Your Mam is lovely and must have been so proud of all you’ve done for cats over the years. I am so sorry that she has passed on. I’m very grateful to all the human and kitty friends who helped make it possible for you to get to see her again. God always makes a way. I so wish we could go to BlogPaws if only just to see you. If you come anywhere near Florida, let me and Pixel know and we will come meet you… Anywhere! We love you so!
Love, Jenny Lewis and Pixel and Jellie too

Marjorie, forever your sweet Mom will remain with you. That’s simply how it is. Though out of sight and touch, her love for you and yours for her does not end when she moves on.
May your journey home be safe. Prayers for you, for her. Fondly, Ann
