We are having a celebration of summer here at the blog! Before we dive into our next big tech feature on making movies we are celebrating wiith some sunshine and cats for Thankful Thursday and Brian’s family. Join us for a lovely blog hop where we take a moment to reflect on the good things, no matter how small they might seem.

But first, a PSA about Sadie. Brian Frum blogged about her here. Sadie needs shares and help.

Help Save Sadie

She is blind and was dumped callously on a bitterly cold night over a fence in a garden known to have a Rottweiler in residence. Found by a neighbour she has a VERY temporary haven. Here speaks her rescuer:

Sadie is enormously sweet. Everyone who meets her says so. But her clock is ticking for a home. My husband is bedridden and I am not able to take on another kitty. I have had blood work done for her and she is FIV and FeLeuk negative. I am also boarding her at a vets office but funds are running low to keep her there. I am afraid the shelter will euthanize her if she is taken there because she is blind.

Our Summer Celebration in New Zealand

Meet some of the fur family out catching some rays in the garden! We are thankful for the warmth and sunshine. Enjoy our pictures.

This has been an exceptional summer for us and Jack’s solar eczema has been a challenge but he is OK thanks to as much pet friendly sun cream as we can manage. Even the pet friendly cream stuff is a challenge, after a couple of treatment he becomes nervous and runs!

First, Meet our Solar Eczema Kitty Jack

Jack is also featured in our latest book review. You might want to read it as we love the book featured. He suffers in the sunshine (in spite of us trying to sun cream his nose!)

Here’s Sienna our Tortoiseshell

Sienna is daddy’s girl. She loves sitting on his lap and demands a stroke. This can be tough on dad as he often sits on the sofa setting his crosswords for the national dailies in Great Britain. Oh and dad has a blog too for crossword fans so go say hi if you love a good cryptic.

Here is youngster Phoebe

Phoebe has not been blogging much recently because she has been having such a blast in the garden these past few weeks. She may be a dark longhair but she has plenty of good sense and enjoys the shade much more than the sunshine.

Finally, our active runabout Silver Kitten

He is brofur to blog editor Miranda Kitten and loves to jump, as you can see in the picture below his portrait. He spends most summer time enjoying the garden so we are glad he has his Tabcat tracker (see the little sliver of blue under his chin?) so we can work out where he is. We don’t often express how thrilled we are with something but we LOVE that little cat tracker.

Here is the piece de resistance!

Our active young silver tabby will leap a building with a single bound! OK, it’s a high wall but take a look at this! If this isn’t an active young tom cat then we don’t know what is!!

Your post is making us jealous that you have warm weather now. We know we’ll change our mind when the temps get in the 100F+ temperatures, but we can dream. We hope someone can take in Sadie. She doesn’t deserve what life has thrown her.

I can’t wait to see the grass and feel the sunshine. Winter in Ontario, Canada has been cold and snowy. Positive thoughts for Sadie. Thank you to her rescuer and temporary foster. I hope she finds a loving home soon. Honestly, I don’t know what is wrong with some people!

We need our summer back…we are digging out from under 13 inches of snow. Sheesh!

So many beautiful kitties! That Silver is quite the kitty athlete. Impressive strength and agility! My Dexter likes to jump and climb like that too. You guys are so lucky to be enjoying the summer weather. It is winter here and there is more than 1 foot (30 cm +) on the ground and it is well below freezing. We are in full cuddle mode.

We have over a foot of snow on the ground so it’s hard to imagine a warm sun and summer! The kitties are all adorable, but I worry so much about kitties being outside, comes from living in a big city I guess! Sandra and Dolly

Happy summer! We’re up to our ears in snow here, almost literally 🙂 On the upside, no biting bugs during winter 🙂

Poor Sadie, I hope she finds a new home quickly. Love your photos and cats. Wish we were celebrating summer here. There is so much snow and it is cold. Not happy.

I’ve shared Sadie and will hope that she finds a good home soon. It looks like you are enjoying summer quite a lot.

Oh how fun. This was great to see and “meet” the rest of the clan. Nice way to share and kick off the summer months. Enjoy and hope that eczema gets better.

I love seeing all of these active kitties enjoying the outdoors. I know a lot of people are against cats being indoor/outdoor, but I also know that outdoor cats live a more enriched, active, healthy life than a lot of indoor cats. And my girl Jasmine is miserable if she doesn’t get to go on adventures.

What a wonderful way to celebrate summer and your photos are amazing 🙂 Layla woofs she wishes she had a garden to just lie out in the sun like that, love them

Everyone looks like they’re enjoying the summer weather. Mr. N also enjoys sunning himself although it’s hard to find enough sunlight here in the winter months!

We are looking forward to some warmer days here in the UK. Poor Sadie, I hope she finds a new home soon, must be very distressing for her and to be so cruelly dumped, I just don’t understand people. Keep us updated on what happens to her, please.

Thank you for sharing about Sadie and looking out for her. Your cat family is adorable. The tracker is a good idea. I would have liked that when I had my roaming cat who sometimes went “missing”.

What beautiful photos! We got a break from Winter last week with our trip to Florida. Poor Sadie, how awful for her! I hope she finds a loving home soon.

It is so awesome that you mentioned a tracker that your cat is wearing because, just yesterday, I was researching trackers for my cats. This Tabcat tracker looks quite lightweight, so it might be a good choice for us.

I am glad you are able to manage Jack’s solar eczema in spite of the really high temperatures you are getting. Silver is very athletic. He also blends in well with the wall!
It is very sad that Sadie was dumped like that. I hope that someone in the US can give her a home to live out her days.
