Yes it is Phoebe, you just press to speak OK?

OK, * cough cough *

A fellow Diva Kitten rests from her hard work.

Ladies and Gentlepals. I would like to give a purrsonal welcome to a special kitten, Summer on the Sparklecat blog.

She mentioned in a comment about stepping up to Diva-hood and to being a Princess, so as an older kitten I came up with a list of special tips for the new human trainer and “Therapy-Cat-in-Training”.

  • Walk with confidence – you may be small now but you will grow. Start practising the confidence stride right now. Therapy people will love the fact you hold your head up and take an interest, so will the show folk (I’m guessing…)
  • All work and no play makes Summer a dull therapy cat – sharpen those toy batting skills, try to improve running times up and down the stairs, perfect your ‘Binga swerve’.  For an added challenge wait until your human is going upstairs and rocket past her at speed. Award yourself extra points for a shriek or scream.
  • If you knock something on the floor and it breaks – do NOT run. Stand still and cultivate a look of utter surprise – a kind of ‘Well, will you look at that” sort of thing. Big eyes are a useful tool at this point, perfect practice for the diva-in-training.
  • Perfect your laptop skills. You can be on Skype in no type chatting to your pals worldwide swapping therapy tips and Diva skills.
  • Pay close attention to your human. They have a lot to teach us believe it or not – yours is especially good at this writing thing, she will be a good team mate when you train her for the therapy cat stuff too.
  • Study hard for your Therapy Cat qualifications. The world needs lots more therapy cats – you and Waffles join an elite but growing band of proud felines helping humans when they need it most.

OK Summer, a Diva can be demanding but gracious, and once the skills are learned, the Diva steps up to be a Princess – loved and admired by all. I reckon you have started as you mean to go on. Good luck * nose taps *

Thank you so much, Phoebe – these are amazing tips! In fact, I’ve already started on a few, most notably racing past my human up the stairs! I had to take a break on that one since I just got spayed but as soon as I’m healed, I’ll be back doing it. right now, I’m soaking in a sun puddle on the lounger, and not letting Binga’s complaints bother me!

This is a great post Phoebe. I am sure you will be a purrfect Diva, and Summer is a beauty, like yourself. *blushes* I am making a copy of this for my sisfur Lady Katy Ivanna. She is a Diva but does not like loud noises at all. I think because the people who she was rescued from used to yell and fight and curse. Now I must go race past my human and see if I can trip her up. MOL
