Hi guys, Phoebe here. I thought I would update you with my current daily routine as I find my paws in my new
palace home. It’s winter here in New Zealand, no it’s no bad thing I can’t go out yet, but, let me give you an idea about my daily routine…….
5.30 a.m. Wake up and do kitty kalistheniks
5.40 a.m. Start jumping at my bedroom door so Mum will let me out.
6.05 am Mum let’s me out having checked the cat flap is set to “in only” so I can’t escape.
6.10 a.m. Run around like maniac so my fur flies in the breeze. Get in the way of Dad getting ready for work.
6.45 a.m. Breakfast! May eat…. depends what I feel like, although one of the other 8 may help themselves so this is a risky undertaking. Nibble something at least.
7 a.m. Dad heads off to work so I wave him off at the front window.
7.10 a.m. My time is my own. I may hide (if mum is going out and has to find me, I can get her 10 minutes behind schedule without trying too hard).
9 a.m. A variety of options present themselves. My favourite activity is a solo effort – Bird TV in the studio, I have a great view of overhead cables and trees where the birds perch! I can do this for hours as mum works at her jewellery desk or the sewing machine. My favourite ‘sneak’ technique is then to move quietly under the chair when mum is distracted so when she moves her feet and I am there she feels terrible 😉
10 a.m. – 4 p.m. I ring the changes; sleeping, mouse pummelling, pouncing on mum’s jewellery storage bags, sneaking onto the quilting shelf to drag off some of Mum’s nice woollen batting (problem – a quilt being dragged across the studio is easily spotted); dozing by the warm air heating, snoozing in my personal bed, trying out one of the window hammocks if Silver and Miranda are not there. Maybe more Bird TV.
4 p.m. – 6 p.m. Sleep.
6.30 p.m. Dad’s home! Time to jump on the front windowsill!
6.45 – 9.30 p.m. Running around like a maniac, playing with Miranda and Natasha, batting at Harvey (he gets grumpy!). Sleep, wake up and remember where I stopped running, repeat until worn out.
9.30 – 10 p.m. Time for bed. I may get a second special snack or not. I turned down the chance of some organic, made in New Zealand kitten food so I may be back on the Fancy Feast now…….
10.00 p.m. Lights out, although Mum leaves me a little night light so it’s never pitch black. I hear them getting ready to turn in and jump at the door a bit but I don’t mind having my own
suite bed to snuggle in. I can hear the wild wind outside but like Big Brofur Harvey – I know its better on the inside 🙂
