Auckland Sky Tower by Whskr
Welcome to today’s Middle Earth Monday and the iconic structure that is the Sky Tower, in Auckland (New Zealand’s largest city).

  • Sky Tower is 328 metres / 1,076 ft tall, as measured from ground level to the top of the mast – its spectacular size makes it the tallest building in the southern hemisphere.
  • The main observation deck, from here you can look out and see for over 82km / 51 miles.
  • Sky Tower is fearsomely tall at 186 m / 610 ft high and has 38 mm / 1.5 in thick glass sections of flooring giving a view straight to the ground (eeek – it scared Mum to death!!)

For the really crazy folks you can do the ‘Sky Jump’ jumping off the outside, or you can climb down to the ground!

See you next Middle Earth Monday

OMC! TW has vertigo and just reading this almost gave her an attack. I want to say the CN Tower in Toronto has a glass floor like that but I may be thinking of the Space Needle in Seattle. CN Tower has an attraction where you can walk outside around the edge. I think TW just fainted.
