Lorie Speaks for Kings River Life
Where in the world are Kings River Life?
Reedley, CA-we are right in the middle of the state half way between San Francisco and Los Angeles.
What is your favourite part of creating the online Magazine?
Being able to post articles that make a difference–whether for animal rescue, supporting the arts, supporting the LGBT+ community, or informing people about the Syrian refugees.
What kind of readership have you discovered enjoys visiting Kings River Life?
Well we have readers all over the world, though mostly in the US. I think most of our readers are probably over 40, are animal lovers, have a love for the arts, and are readers (especially mystery readers).
What are the joys and challenges of being a website with a worldwide reach?
The joys are pretty much the same as I said above–being able to make a difference. But it is also a great feeling when you get thanks from not only readers who are moved or informed by something, but also from the subjects of our posts who appreciate us taking the time to share about their book, rescue, event, etc.
Why is the biggest challenge running the Kings River Life blog?
The biggest challenge is time. We are all volunteer, so we are all juggling day jobs and lives while trying to put each issue together. I have to wear many hats and sometimes it’s stressful. And also getting the word out that we are out there with little to no money to advertise.
Will you suggest some of your favourite posts for our readers to discover more about you?
For one I would say anything in our animal rescue section. We have several animal rescues with their own columns where they share things that have happened, needs, and stories of those animals they have rescued and who are in need of a home.
- Our feral cat post Yoyo – is special.
- Readers can also check the pet section for cats and dogs here.
- This is one of many articles about the Syrian refugees
- or our News Updates or even the Phantom of the Opera.
Kings River Life Home of the Mystery Novel!
KRL also review a lot of mystery novels each week. This was a favorite of many of our readers. A doggy mystery by E J Copperman.
Thank you Lori for spotlighting a cool online magazine and we hope you will all pop over and check out Yoyo, the cats and dogs stories or the host of other delights ready for your browsing pleasure.
