Middle Earth Monday Celebration

It is definitely time for a Middle-Earth Monday celebration.

The auction to help Austin Pets Alive is entering its final stages and we borrowed our ‘launch into 2017‘ celebration graphic for the best touch of brightness we could find! Bidders are being informed of their success, money is reaching Austin Pets Alive and addresses are being submitted so that items can be sent off to their new owners!

Middle Earth Monday Celebration!

Layla and her mum at Layla’s Woofs blog has been hosting the auction on their website, and Mudpie and her mum have been spreadsheet supporters and cheerleaders. What a team!

  • NOTE: We would also like to remind you have smaller rescues in other areas are really struggling.  They are outside the spotlight but often in desperate need. If you were in an area affected by the storms, your local rescue may need help. They may lack power, food, and may need your help with temporary fostering for cats and kitten and puppies. Habersham Shelter in Georgia is one such small rescue. (FB link).

Middle Earth Monday Celebration

While We Have Our Middle Earth Monday Celebration

The hurricanes continued to batter the Turks and Caicos, Haiti, the Dominican Republic and Cuba, causing much damage, before setting out to rattle the teeth of our friends in Florida and move further north.

We believe the needs of Austin Pets Alive will not diminish overnight and Layla, Mudpie and the Dash Kitten Crew are all determined to do our best for the animals being rescued and those cruelly abandoned. Our commitment is there for the cats and dogs left to fend for themselves, and the family pets separated from their pet parents.

If you shared our links and posts or cheered us all on, I know on behalf of the whole team THANK YOU. What all of us, and you, are doing matters. Every list of shelters open that is shared, every rescue with a space that you discover and tell social media about – can mean a life is saved.

Thank you for helping with the needs of pets from Hurricane Harvey. Even places not affected by the storms have shelters that need help since the pets are being shipped to shelters and rescues around the country. Even my home town of Waukegan, Illinois received over a hundred pets and they had a fundraiser last weekend to help.
I hope your auction is successful!

Austin Pets Alive is an amazing group of people that work so well together. The foundation that I support donated $1500 to help them out. I was also able to help out a personal friend whose house has now been flooded twice in the last two years. Thanks for bringing the needs of Harvey’s victims to the forefront.

Thank you so much Marjorie, Rochelle Epstein, and Melissa LaPierre for pulling this wonderful auction together!! I’m excited that I’ll be getting a beautiful handmade tea cozy from the auction! There is a lot of need for these animals, as the days & weeks go on we’ll no doubt learn that many people left their animals when they evacuated or fled the impacted areas.

What great work you are all doing! Here in the U.K. we have seen the devastation Irma has wrecked on so many places and lives. I find myself terribly upset by all the animals in rescue or left behind, so scared. Thank you to all of you for the amazing work you are doing.
