Whanganui is a town 200 kilometres/125 miles from Wellington.  I live just outside Wellington and the distance is not too far to drive, or ride Mum’s motorbike.

The Whanganui River is sweeping and spectacular and the town is built around it with much of the housing on the northwestern bank. Tje small but beautifully situated Sarjeant Gallery, looks over a park beyond which is the main street of the town.  There is also a superb small artisan glass gallery, Chronicle. Their site is worth a quick look.

It looks super pretty. Pretty as long as we don’t get our paws wet, if you know what I mean.
