Standing on Top of the Mountain or, WorldWide Blogging for Everyone!

Better International Blogging For Everyone!

Standing on top of the mountain, what do you see?  It’s a comment we made while chatting to Bionic Basil‘s mum recently while we discussed international blogs and their growing reach.

  • You see the view, which can be stupendous…..
  • You see for miles and miles in every direction.
  • Your breath is taken away and your heart sings,
  • So, you turn to the people beside you to share the experience……..

but there is no-one there………

……and what is the point of getting to top the of the mountain, maybe the most amazing place you might ever see, if there is no-one sharing the excitement with you?

We realised that, as Finalists in the BlogPaws® Nose to Nose Awards this year, we are in the most wonderful position. We are in the media spotlight, and can share, and encourage, our talented blogging friends worldwide. We want our friends at the top of the mountain as well!

So, how do we share success, and encourage you to blog, to write and to create – worldwide?

Top of the Mountain Blogging for us All Around the World

You Take Your Blogging Friends to the Top of the Mountain with You!

Aim to work with other bloggers during the coming year. Be inspired by what they do and suggest working together if you think it would be a good fit. This is what happened to the Dash Kitten Crew when we began to work with Nerissa’s Life and Savannah’s Paw Tracks. The Adventurcats was born [and another adventure is planned soon!] We collaborate, we have fun, and learn a lot about working together across timezones. Collaboration won us a BlogPaws Certificate in 2015 too.

This ‘give and take’ process is a powerful learning tool. You can share ideas, develop concepts, and achieve success with colleagues around the globe using email, Skype and various forms of ‘chat’, and projects often grow organically out of discussions online, so, always be aware of potential opportunities.

  • Don’t worry about not being good enough. You are because you blog

Blog Hops – Run One or Join One

If you have a great theme for a blog hop, then start your own. Linkytools is one popular option, and it is used by both of the hops here.

A personal favourite is the friendly Sunday Selfie with the Kitties Blue. BlogPaws also has a very popular Wednesday Blog Hop where pet bloggers are made very welcome.  Hoppers visit from anywhere in the world and you could find yourself visiting Eastern Europe, the Northern USA or New Zealand without leaving your computer or iPad. New people, new blogs, new opportunities, and, a chance to make yourself known worldwide.

  • NOTE:-  There is often a protocol for joining a blog hop so check before you join. You may be asked to display a badge, and add a piece of code to your post so others can see fellow hoppers listed.

What is Instagram? Stars tell us.

Discuss, Chat, and Exchange Views

Proper discussion on any social media platforms can generate contacts and inspiration. Like-minded ideas and discussions travel around the world, you cross time zones, you have time to breath, think about your work.  Your chats may be inspire you with ‘go it alone’ ideas, or a team project.  Reach out and exchange ideas with fellow cat bloggers, pet professionals,  writers or crafters.

Whatever you do, make 2017 the year you took a step out into the bigger, international, blogging world. So when you get to the top maybe you stand with friends and colleagues.

The View From The Top of the Mountain is Much Better With Someone to Share it with, isn’t it?

See you at the Top of the Mountain

This post is so inspirational. The world is becoming smaller and that’s mostly a good thing

  3. Sweet Purrfections

We feel we are climbing that mountain. We’ve made a lot of changes the past two years, but Mom Paula has lots of ideas for the future now that she will be retired after this week.

  4. Bryn Nowell

Love love love this post! You’re so right. It’s no fun if we’re alone and I’m so glad you helped to remind us of how amazing collaboration can be for so many reasons.

  5. Savannah's Paw Tracks

awww shucks, thanks for that shout out about being’ collaborative and all that…worldwide. Guess I can’t think of any blog I know that write creative stories across two continents, three times zones like we do…and for the life of me I can’t think of “why not”??!!! We have sooooooo much fun! We giggle, create and giggle some more. My international pals were some of my very first ever collaborative event creators. I miss doing those fun things without having my furs fall out worried over “will my blog post be popular enough for the brands”?? WHO CARES! *pads off the tallest litter box lid*

  6. Dolly the Doxie

Great post! The view from the top, or anywhere for that matter, is always nice when sharing with someone! I do collaborate with others on Blog Hops…I added a co-host to my Flashback Friday hop, and now have a total of three hosts on my annual Purple Day Blog Hop. It’s wonderful to connect, support, and collaborate.

Great post, and really good points and I think it is a wonderful idea when bloggers work together as it is a win win situation, thank you for sharing this

  12. Anita Aurit

Great post! I love connecting with other bloggers around the world. As a matter of fact, you and I connected prior to BlogPaws last year and I brought you a Purrresidential campaign button for Oliver (FelineOpines) and Olive (Three Chatty Cats). Pet bloggers are the BEST folks! Looking forward to seeing you in Myrtle Beach!

  13. Beth

I think the pet blogging community is very supportive! Collaboration is a lot of fun too!

  14. Brian

You are the top of the mountain in my book! Great post my friend!

  15. Talent Hounds

Congratulations on your nomination for BlogPaws! We’re also big fans of collaboration and think that sharing knowledge and experience can only make a blog that much richer! You’re doing a great job here and it’s so nice to see you sharing your view from the top.

  16. Colehaus Cats

Thank you for working with others to prevent bloggers from feeling alone. We used to like the Blog Hops but one bad experience turned us away from them. We love seeing you around and want you to know we are noticing you and your hard work at getting out there!

  17. Jana Rade

    Communities are always fantastic.

  18. Nichole

Great, inspirational post for bloggers! Thanks!

When I started out, I had the idea of trying to work with established bloggers to get my own name out there (and I got no takers). Now, two years later, it’s weird that I haven’t reached out to help others. I’m far from established … and my numbers aren’t enough for brands … but I can still get involved in blogs I believe in. I guess I just assumed I didn’t have anything to offer. Thank you for the reminder. I know you’ve made a huge difference in so many bloggers’ lives … and that might be even better than the success of one’s own blog!

What an Inspirational post! One of the things I love about blogging is the international aspect of it. I love having friends in other countries, getting a glimpse into their world – friends like you Marjorie! I love blog hops & have started looking for groups to connect with online. The view from the top is becoming more visible every day!

Congrats on being a finalist! That’s great. I really need to look into blog hops. I’ve been toying with the idea for a while, just didn’t know where to start. I’m gonna look into the BlogPaws Wordless Wednesday one that you suggested. Thanks!

  22. Tonya Wilhelm

Great ideas. I was a bit sad reading you were alone. Kind of the truth sometimes. Your ideas are fantastic. I so need to participate in more blog hops. On my 2017 to do list.

  23. Kitty Cat Chronicles

These are all such wonderful tips! Sharing the view from the top of the mountain with others is definitely the way to go! Thanks for all that you do to encourage other bloggers and educate too!

  24. Three Chatty Cats

I think working together with other bloggers, no matter where they’re from, is a great idea. And you’re a great example of that!

  25. The Island Cats

Great points! It should be a worldwide effort. 🙂

  26. Hindy Pearson

That’s such a wonderful idea and thanks for reminding me. Quite some time ago I was talking to another blogger and we were discussing ways we could work together. Unfortunately she lost interest before we started, and attempts at reaching out failed. This is perfect timing because the past couple of weeks I’ve been thinking about ways to expand my blog. Thanks again and I’m going to start working on some ideas.

  27. Erin the Cat (Princess)

Great post, and so very true. You have been so fantastic to help us get to where we are now, using the steps you set out. And the folks in the blogosphere that reach out and share and support are truly the best.
    Purrs, Erin
