Meow Like a Pirate Day is Here

Ahoy me hearties! Shiver me Timbers! Today is Meow Like a Pirate Day and we are SO enjoying it. It’s also Talk Like a Pirate Day for our humans if they insist!

We have written a poem to celebrate all of us Pie Rats, for your eddyfication and enjoyment!  * hands out rum ration to crew *

Ahoy me hearties
Our bunch of Pirate smarties
We sail the Spanish main
On Meow Like a Pirate Day

We shout “Shiver me Timbers”
Standing with our paws ‘akimbers’
As our ship ploughs the waves
Manned by scurvy Cat Knaves

Ask the B’osun for a weapon
If on our deck you’re steppin’
As we Swash and Buckle away
on Meow Like a Pirate Day!!

In order to get to the sea we had to sail down the Hutt River. Mum did a video so you can see what it was like for us swashbuckling kitties as we sailed down to the bay at Wellington Harbour on Meow Like a Pirate Day. Our swashbuckling shipmates had to work hard to keep us afloat and our cat treats from washing away as the water was so dramatic.

Mum even gives you an introduction – it’s cool stuff! Our thanks to Dad for the nifty camera work too.

If case you missed it, we have a fabulous post about the Grand Canyon here.

Blimey! We sure hope that river stayed within its banks, and you did not run aground in your pirate ship, mateys. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo

Lovely to see you and the beautiful NZ countryside. Pity the ‘film’ in the camera ran out before we got to see the Pie-rats launch in those Hutt River rapids.
